Brancaster
Staithe Women's Institute (WI) |
Brancaster Staithe WI is part of The National Federation of
Women's Institutes (NFWI), the largest voluntary organisation for women in the
UK with 205,000 members in England, Wales and the Islands. We play a unique role
in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new
skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues
that matter to them and their communities.
We are a very friendly group of about 24 members and meet on
the first Monday in the month at Brancaster Staithe Village Hall at 7.30pm. Our
meetings are varied with a short business meeting followed by a speaker or
demonstrator with plenty of time for refreshments and socialising. We usually
send a delegate to County and National conferences and arrange visits to local
places of interest and theatre shows. We are also part of the Nelson group,
which is made up of neighbouring WIs, giving us the opportunity to visit other
WIs and socialise with other WI members throughout the year at special events.
We are also involved in the local community with projects, fundraising and
supporting local events.
We welcome all visitors, new members and visiting WI members
holidaying in this lovely part of Norfolk to come and join us in an evening
of fun, friendship and socialising.
