Angela Hewitt is returning to the Marble Hall for a second visit by popular demand.
One of the world’s leading pianists, Angela Hewitt appears around the world in both recital and as a soloist with leading orchestras. Born into a musical family in Ottawa, she began her piano studies at the age of three and gave her first public performance a year later. She studied with the French pianist Jean-Paul Sevilla and won the Toronto International Bach Piano Competition which launched her international career. During the first half of 2016 she will give recitals throughout Britain and in New Orleans, Scottsdale, Lucerne, Zurich, Rome, Florence, Aarhus, Amsterdam, Prague and Istanbul. Angela will also appear as a soloist with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, in Macau, Beijing and Shanghai, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. In April she will give a masterclass and a recital at Wigmore Hall and in July she will present her annual Trasimeno Festival in Umbria.
Angela has an extensive discography and her recording of Bach’s The Art of Fugue recorded in 2014 was described in The Sunday Times as “one of the glories of our age.”
