Honor was 28 when the First World War broke out. She wrote a diary of historic events as they unfolded. Honor also covered daily happenings in West Norfolk village life and what befell Norfolkís youth in wartime, including the heroic adventures of her sister Win who left home to drive ambulances in France and won the MM Ė the highest award possible for a woman Ė for her bravery.
