Pianist Louis Schwizgebel will be performing at Holkham’s Hall Marble Hall
Louis Schwizgebel was born in Geneva in 1987. At the age of 17 he won the Geneva International Music Competition, in 2012 took the second prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition, and became a BBC New Generation Artist in 2013.
He has played as a soloist with orchestras from around the world including the CBSO, the LPO, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic. During the 2015/6 season he will play with the LPO, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and with orchestras in the USA, Canada and Australia, as well as giving recitals and concerts in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Louis gave two performances in the BBC Proms in 2014, making his debut that summer at the North Norfolk Music Festival. He gives solo recitals and works with other chamber musicians, notably, this season, with the violinist Alina Ibragimova. He studied with Brigitte Meyer in Lausanne and Pascal Devoyon in Berlin and then at the Juilliard School with Emanuel Ax and at the Royal Academy.
Tickets: £25 includes a glass of wine in the Saloon during the interval and an opportunity to view some of the other state rooms in the Hall.
